AOG: Bee Time Trials

I can't believe it's already Day 10 of the Alternative Olympic Games. Today was the bee time trials, known colloquially as the 'bed of nails' competition. It takes great skill to walk right across the top of this particular flower and even at Olympic level, several competitors fell through. This is Bianca showing how it should be done with both skill and speed, no wonder she was on her way to a well deserved gold medal.

G and I went to Blickling this morning for a gentle bimble as opposed to a walk - far too hot for that! It was lovely in the walled garden. A nice catch up with two sisters on houseparty this afternoon.

Day 148 / Full Day 140 of Lockdown / Day 38 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 21 to 46,526 (numerically should be 46,595 but 69 cases were removed from the figures in England as not confirmed positive cases), with new daily cases up by 816. Globally cases to date pass 20m which is still up 1m in 4 days. Deaths in India pass 45k and are still going up rapidly. Deaths in Russia pass 15k, a very low number for the 892k cases. NHS test and trace in England is to cut 6,000 jobs by the end of August as remaining staff will now work alongside local public health teams (an obvious approach, but at least it's finally been recognised and acted on). Nicola Sturgeon apologises, accepting her govt 'did not get this right' with the exam grading system.
