Is it a log ?

I was shooting birds in Belhaven Bay when the tide had recently receded so there was still a lot of water around. Away in the distance I could see something that looked like a log but then I thought I detected some movement. For curiosity's sake I took a few shots just to see what bird it might be. When I was processing my shots, I was therefore astounded to find out it was a curlew as this is one of my favourite birds and it is some time since I have sewn one on the beach.
