Gunnera

This is the gunnera which appeared in our next door neighbour's garden a few years ago.  It was a tiny seedling, growing in a crack in the stones.  With his agreement, I moved it to just outside our gate, and it has grown like a triffid!

It is now encroaching on our neighbour's sitting out area, so today I took the pruning saw to it, but not before taking some photos of Lottie next to it.  The leaves are huge!

Later, lunch with A & C. We ate in the garden, sat in the sun, watching the sea, with glasses in hands and it was perfect!  Lottie even had a football to play with!  

A really good day.  Mike even came home with a partly built model boat to complete when he has an idle moment!  There was an initial panic when I thought he might be acquiring another full size boat . . . !  One can have too much of a good thing!
