DAY TEN IN THE GAMES....
... wow things really took off with a "whizz" this morning in the Alternative Olympics Games after the delay in events due the very heavy rain falls.
It is Day ten, and as you would expect "the BIG boys" were due to come out and play at some point!!
Down at the Lagoon the mighty Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos who are renowned to be around when it is due to rain, where right on target again.
Charlie disguised his performance by hiding in the branches (extra one) then burst out to display his style in our main pic.
Then not to be outdone, there was an abrupt announcement for everyone to look to the dull skies!
It was Horace the Swamp Harrier gliding through the skies putting on a magnificent display.
Left with a further delay due to these two "intruders", the Committee were keen to have the first event under way.
The Mallard Duck team were back with Yvonne and Doris showing their co-ordination team qualities (extra three) and of particular notice was the trouble they had gone to do their tail feathers in the best "curl" not seen before.
Not to be out done, Murphy the Mallard had no trouble taking out the "speed Lagoon race" in (extra four). All in all, it had been a morning filled with some brilliant events. Games 2020 were really heating up and the afternoon continued with nothing but excellence.
The main hi light was Honey the White-plumed Honeyeater (extra five) performing in the branch acrobatics, and her result will be hard to beat.
The final event of the day had been given a real "push" as it was an open event for ducks, giving all other "varieties" a chance to perform in the short course swim. The winner was Specky the Duck, who had a superb style and blitzed the course. (extra six).
With the extension of days due the rain havoc, there was hi expectation as to what could come next after day Tens results. The buzz around the arena had hinted tomorrow could bring a real surprise, so I suppose we will just have to wait and see.
Enjoy and have a look in LARGE
