If you are going to put up a bee hotel and it is occupied, and they are leaf cutter bees, then the rose bush is going to suffer some consequences. No long term damage though.

I watched her cutting the rose leaf segments, each a little semi-circle plus, and destined to seal each compartment of her nest. She worked very quickly - those mandibles are efficient.
