Rose bud

I accidentally snapped off this rose bud as I was pruning the wisteria this morning.  However, in a bud vase I can admire it on the cool of my kitchen window ledge as I shelter from the outside shade temperature of 32ºC.  No sign of a thunderstorm for us.

The chimney sweep was here this morning.  I felt sorry for him working in the sweltering heat.  He said that he is rushed off his feet because people are frightened of another lockdown so they are having all the jobs they might possibly need done now while they can.  And he is taking all the business he can now while he still has it.
