Reading on the balcony

I deadheaded the roses in the front garden very early this morning before it got too hot. Then realized that the front garden needs a lot of work, to cut back the roses and shrubs and to get rid of the weeds. Not something to be done in this heat.
 
Today’s picture is of my husband who decided, because it was overcast and there was a slight breeze that he would sit on the balcony and read his book. However, three minutes after he sat down, the breeze disappeared and the sun came out. He retreated indoors to read in one of our cooler rooms.

The temperature was twenty-nine degrees Celsius at GMT noon, but much hotter later in the afternoon.
