Chris blowing down and greasing up...

It hasn't been the best of days for Michael and Chris... Late last night the combine ingested a rock lying in the wheat, the damage caused is costly in time as well as money. Here Chris is doing the daily blow down and grease up while waiting to start repairs.

The whole front end of the machine had to be taken off and rollers and other items replaced to get it back running... After harvest more extensive repairs will be undertaken. Including replacing the 'trunk' which  is distorted.

I've included an extra of the 'combine killer', a heavy glacial erratic and quite small compared to some. The field being cut belongs to a neighbouring farm, Michael and Chris have an arrangement to bring in their harvest.

On a lighter note, I went to the dentist this afternoon, it's going to be root-canal treatment and a crown... expensive!
