A peacock butterfly

I don't see butterflies often so rushed to get my camera when I spotted this beauty among the French marigolds. The peacock butterfly has brownish-red wings, each with a single, large peacock-feather-like eyespot – to scare predators. 
Extra: It rests with its wings closed, showing the almost black, well-camouflaged underside.
