A very pristine Red Admiral in the garden

Unfortunately it chose the brightest part of the day to visit, so not easy to photograph.  I took lots of images and have thrown most of them away.

A good day for butterflies:

at least 5 small whites dancing around and possible one large white
1 Brimstone on next doors buddleja
1 peacock
1 red admiral
1 gatekeeper

Emma has been this afternoon to pamper our feet - we were able to sit outside, though in the end I had to bring the sun umbrella around to the back to give her some shade.  Very hot again with no breeze, despite last nights thunderstorm.
