Harvestman

This superb little arachnid was just sitting on a sage leaf and asking to be photographed.

Trying to identify it proved to be somewhat tricky.

Initially, my research led me to think it was Dicranopalpus ramosus but it could be D. caudatus. If you know differently, please correct me.

These arachnids do not have venom, nor silk glands so hunt in an entirely different way to spiders.

But the real attraction is the amazingly long legs. I tried to measure them without scaring it away, and can tell you that they were slightly longer than 40 mm. Let your eye travel to the edges of the photograph to see the full stretch
