AOG - Day 12
Tina Tiger Swallowtail was on the podium this afternoon, accepting a well deserved Gold in the Nectaring Marathon. This event is always a nail-biter because it requires the athletes to spend a certain amount of time at the nectar trough before moving on. This almost always disqualifies the Skippers and wasps as both tend to be way to flitty, zooming from one trough to another on a whim. But Team Eastern Tiger Swallowtail has always shown far more restraint, often spending countless minutes in place. Such was the case today with the lovely Tina as she outlasted every other competitor.
In the Speed Nectaring Event, a new kid in town, Chelsea Common Checkered Skipper put in an excellent showing at one of the nearby venues. I was frankly shocked to see her since none of her kind have been seen in the last few years. Also looking strong in Speed Nectaring was Team Long-horned Bee - I shall try to get an interview with one of them in the next few days but no promises as they are notoriously shy of reporters.
With a heavy heart, I must inform you that Team Lady Eastern Pondhawk has been disqualified from the rest of the games. Sadly, team leader, Jezzie (featured on Day 1, HERE) was photographed eating a member of Team Fly. This simply can't be tolerated. Jezzie tried to go with the "I didn't know" excuse, but we're not buying it. And let this be a warning to all the Dragons in the Games!
