A Level agony
It seems that the news all this week has been about the 'A' Level results, what may or may not be taken into account in predicting them since the exams were cancelled due to the pandemic, and how the Scots have now back-tracked over the CAG system they used. Suddenly last night the media reported that 'mock' exam results are going to be taken into account . Which mock results? Is this just speculation or has someone changed their minds again at the 11th hour...?
We don't know what that means for Sam who hopes to go the university in a month's time. Like all those in his year he's been unable to 'prove' that he could work hard and achieve good results and make us, and himself, proud. There is nothing he can do about it, and early tomorrow we will find out if he did enough - before the goal posts changed completely - to go to uni.
We love you and are proud of you Sam, and always will be - whatever happens tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone getting results tomorrow. It's going to be no good dwelling on what 'could have been', we just need to work with what 'is' and move forward with it.
