School is back ...

Last night’s thunder turned out to be ‘a once in a lifetime’ event. There was a direct hit on our adjacent street. The storm went on for hours. Roads were flooded, Edinburgh to Glasgow motorway closed and a tragic derailment of an Aberdeen to Glasgow train killed the driver, conductor and a passenger.
As the sun rose the mist was burning off and a warm day ensued. It was ironic that one of the sunniest days of our soggy summer should coincide with return to school after five months of Covid closure. T joined a group of musicians to serenade the local primary school children on their first day back. Due to the rolling start they will repeat this tomorrow morning. It was greatly appreciated.

I had meetings in town this morning. My photo shows some of the PHS pupils at lunchtime. These local shops will have missed their custom during lockdown.
