12 Pastels.....

I have to admit i LOVE doing exercises like this one!

I took 12 different coloured pastels (plus white and a couple of greys)...a combination of cool and warm colours....made a grid and the did an overlapping process. This was suggested in an online magazine i subscribe to.....still not sure about the online magazine thing...i kinda miss the actual feel of the paper etc...but it is less clutter around the house!!! anyway, the idea is of course to get more familiar with what you can do in the way of mixing with pastels. So different from paint....but very possible. I am intrigued by the variation of green for example.....the difference between using a cool yellow and a warm yellow....or a cool blue.....just so much information.

In other news....the predicted storm is blowing outside and has done so since late last night, lots of snow and drifts up to 3' in some parts. yesterday we had a bit of a scare.....the pipes to the kitchen froze! not a happy situation.....but for whatever reason it became unfrozen during the night and yeah...we have water again! We sure do get attached to our comforts eh!!!
