winged jewels abounds

This was one of my target species for my Costa Rican journey: the Glass-wing Butterfly. I found this one at the Los Quebradas Biological Center near the bustling town of San Isidro de el General. The community-run conservation area lies in the hills above the city and protects the watershed. Entry is free to Costa Ricans, and US$2 to "foreigners." It was a lovely area, sheltering many bright and beautiful species.
