Warwick Castle
It was drizzling a bit on the way but we had packed waterproofs so weren't particularly worried.
Ivy was randomly stung by a wasp on the shin on the walk from the car park to the castle. She suddenly screamed out and it was attached to her leg by the stinger, I had to scrape it off with my pass. Very strange to be randomly stung whilst just walking along a path. A kind lady behind us gave us some antihistamine cream and I put a plaster on it (more to comfort her). She was very brave.
After a short queue to get in and our temperatures checked we found the toilet and coffee, and that is when the rain started... It was torrential, but we had driven 2 hours so we proceeded to find a spot for the birds of prey show, unfortunately the rain was so bad it was stopped after 2 birds. There was nowhere to shelter or eat the packed lunch we had made, the forecast showed the rain was to last another 2 hours so we sadly abandoned the visit. Soaked through, despite our waterproofs we ate the picnic in a carpark and then drove home! They offer a rainy day guarantee and so we will try again on the same tickets in a week or so as it looked like a great place to visit.
