Acacia

Acacias (wattles) are spread right over the huge continent of Australia - so many types, each adapted to their habitat.  That, I believe, is why this country is associated with green and gold.   They all take turns flowering through the winter months , thus providing nectar and food for many native birds, animals and insects.
