Pigface
These lunchtime walks are becoming a nice way to punctuate the working day. Today it was a stroll along the Cooks River to a strip of pigface I spotted earlier in the week. They’re a native succulent usually found on the coast, but anywhere sandy and sunny seems to do. These ones are growing between the path and the riverbank.
Children probably still break off the flowers and squeeze out the fruit and juice, but I learnt today that every part is edible, even the leaves. (Take 1/2 cup pigface sprigs...) Plus it has traditional medicinal uses.
Thanks for hosting BikerBear and Miranda1008. (Is that allowed? Two challenges?)
Have a great weekend everyone!
