I was on the move again today. I’ve decided that 2020 is my Cotswold and Pizza Camping Tour. After two visits already to Cirencester, I came to Moreton-in-Marsh today, a market town in the Cotswolds. And today was Market Day!
After checking in and choosing a pitch, I walked down to town and had a mooch around. Unfortunately it was SO hot that I could hardly stand it and only did a minimal amount of browsing before heading into a cafe for a late lunch. Although they had a lovely garden area I stayed inside where it was cooler. I enjoyed another delicious lunch with 50% of it being paid for by the government (or more accurately, the tax payer!) under the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
This main photo just made me laugh! For a more traditional market selection see first Extra photo. This market actually sells mostly non-food items but it was good to find one traditional fruit and veg stall.
Second Extra photo shows a selection of beautiful doorways to be found on the High Street. Not the best lighting today - the sun was so severe, but doorways and flowers are always worthy of a photograph.
Once back at the campsite (a 10-minute walk from town) I tried desparately to cool down and was thankful that I was in the shade. Dinner plans for the evening were easy - the fabulous mobile Pizza oven was here (See last Extra photo). This is the same couple who were at the site in Cirencester. They travel round to 4 different Cotswold campsites, which is why I’m calling this my 2020 Cotswold and Pizza Camping Tour. I’ll be at another Cotswold site in a couple of weeks and I’m sure I’ll be enjoying one of their delicious pizzas there too! I hope the weather cools down a great deal by then - it’s too hot for camping and it’s CERTAINLY too hot for making pizzas in that blazing oven!
