DAY THIRTEEN IN THE GAMES...
.... well here we are, the second last day of the Alternative Olympic Games and the Down Under team have really excelled.
As the teams warmed up there was talk of Wag the Willie Wagtail making a special appearance. He was first of all spotted resting in the sun (extra one) right at the Arenas back fence.
He then went into the Arena like a rocket ship (extra two) but as it noted on the TV's slow motion frames he was simply after some tucker.
Not to be out done he then roared across the Arena in our main pic, and did a circuit much to the delight of the crowd.
The crowd were then waiting on another "special".... yes the joint Gold medal winners Gladys and George from Day four were due back into the Arena for another Challenge. Only one race this time, and before they started the crowd could see them warming up out in the training Arena (extra three).
Very soon the race was on (extra four) showing George just slightly in front. What a finish in the end with Gladys actually just winning, and the true team spirit was shown (extra five) as straight after the race they were seen chatting over things with other team members.
The day continued still catching up on events after the earlier rain disrupted the Games.
A favourite this year was Tony the Crested Pigeon (extra six) set to win his fifth Gold in the "seed event"! Quite an interesting event where they need to devour twenty seed plants in five minutes - he did it easy and took another Gold Medal.
Well as the day drew to a close the Games everybody was hoping the weather would hold for the Final day tomorrow. But, apparently Gladys the Galah had no concerns, as she had an early dinner (extra seven).
Enjoy and have a look in LARGE and remember to check the tag #AOG202013 to see all of the Day 13 events.
