...or dense blazing star, bringing some much needed colour to an otherwise grey day. A good day for domestic goddessing!

Well that was eventful...just trying to post this quickly before the final preparations of dinner when I spotted something heading down the birch trunk in the garden. Picked the camera up to look closer and discovered it was a woodpecker (see extra). Not the sharpest shot as I was a fair distance away and shooting through glass, I did go out to get closer but it hopped around the other side of the tree before flying off!

After that excitement I set to with dinner...chicken skewers with potato wedges all prepared from scratch. Got the wedges in the oven before loading the meat and veg onto the skewers by which time the wedges were ready for turning...as I shut the oven door the fuse tripped and refused to reset whilst the oven was switched on! Grrr...luckily the top half of the cooker is gas...fried chicken and veg ensued with the wedges finished off in the deep fat fryer...so much for a healthy tea!!
