Paused Shielding - Day 14
The rooftops of Weston, Bath and a distant Beckford’s Tower in the clouds...
A difficult and tiring day:
- Kept awake by thunderstorms which brought a cooler overcast day of 20 degrees, but still very humid
- At the vets for 9am. Toffee has now lost 20% of her body weight over the last four months, vet very concerned. Hopefully blood test results on Monday will explain why she is not eating and a plan of action can be drawn up.
- When the vet brought Toff out, the handle snapped on her basket and she went plummeting to the floor. Thankfully she was ok, just scared witless.
- Talking to the vet in the car park, the skies opened and I got soaked to the skin, had to change when I got home.
- Accompanied mum to the hospital in Bath for a routine appointment. I wasn’t allowed to wait for her in the waiting room so walked to Weston village in search of various bits that I hoped would tempt Toff to eat. The skies opened and I got soaked for a second time, and I couldn’t find what I wanted at the shops.
- Managed to find pilchards at supermarket on the way home, but now Toffee won’t even eat that.
- Elderly neighbour phoned, needed to talk about what happened to her cat when it was put to sleep. Her vet has apologised to her but C is still deeply traumatised and upset.
- Waiting on fish and chip home delivery, and a large glass of wine!
Take care, stay safe and well...
