Round The Bend

Lovely evening for a walk along the inlet. At the height of summer and the reeds along the shore are very tall, obscuring where the inlet joins the lake. Only a few saplings remain at this point and their yellow leaves stood out against the darker background, so I decided to feature them.

I liked that the water disappears around a corner and there is obviously space behind the reeds giving depth to the image.

Not much processing required, although I did select Velvia as the film simulation to add a boost to the yellow leaves amongst all that green.

Later I watched one of the bird boxes for a while as one of the parents feed their chicks (extra).
