The Apprentice Progresses

Following a fire safety chat Heidi manages the smoker. She is good at giving the bees a gentle whiff to quiet them. Smoke causes temporary paralysis of the bees breathing apparatus so they need to land.
We checked the hives in the evening as it was hot today, the disadvantage is in most of the hives approximate 20,000 bees where at home after a busy working day!
