Growing up post war
Today is the 75th anniversary of the surrender of Japan, and hence the end of the Second World War.
Listening to the media coverage, I was reminded that we – the children born during and immediately after the War – were the first generation to grow up in the international rules - based order that followed the War. We have never known any other world, and we have probably taken it for granted. That might be a sobering thought right now.
