The Picture House
A damp and dismal day, drizzling with rain which eased off a little for a couple of hours late morning, and I managed to get out for a short walk. I'm missing the sunshine already!
Paignton picture house opened in 1914 but closed down in 1999, and is falling into a state of disrepair. It's a Grade 11 listed building, owned by the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway for a time, and more recently by the Paignton Picture House Trust who have plans to eventually reopen it as a living film museum.
I liked the miscellaneous fact that Seat 2, Row 2 of the Circle, was the favourite seat of Agatha Christie!!
Tagging it for the derelict challenge...thanks Marlieske
Hope the weather is better tomorrow but the forecast is pretty dire !!
