Churchill's

Fish and chips this evening. Churchills is the local, named after Churchill (I'd never have guessed - Ed) who was the MP for the constituency and led us through the war and out the other side. It being VJ day today it seemed appropriate to remember him by having cod and chips plus mushy peas.

They were happy to be photographed as there was a pause in proceedings. It seems that 8 pm is late for the local trade. They were yumptious. As a gift they gave me a couple of complimentary dill cucumbers (round here they are called wallies). Very kind - I should have been tipping them for the picture.

And yes, it is bright in there.
