Texcess
We Texans are sometimes obnoxiously obsessed with state pride, as well as the legend that "everything is bigger in Texas." (A future blip will deal with how untrue that is when it comes to bathtubs, for reasons that remain a mystery to me.) With apologies to my French friends, I share these two T-shirt designs.
Texas IS big, no doubt about it. Encompassing 268,480 square miles (695,622 square kilometers.) Texas comprises 7% of the overall land and water mass of the United States. (France, for the record, is 211,209 square miles, or 547,030 square kilometers.)
Davy Crockett - who always went by David in life - was a famous frontiersman who went on to become a hero of the Battle of the Alamo. Upon narrowly losing re-election to congress, he rather famously stated, "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas." He did so, and went on to die at the Alamo.
When I hit my first 31 days of blipping, a couple folks commented that I'm officially addicted. They're right. As the day wears on, if I've not taken a blipworthy photo, I find myself getting a bit nervous, seeking something (hopefully clever) to photograph as a blip...
