faint glow

took advantage of the fact that we couldn't go to the NW as the B&B hadn't opened (and weren't too sure we wanted to go having heard of teh overcrowding in the area) to go south the visit Mum.
Not exactly avoiding the crowds but as we were just there for 2 days to see mum (last time there was early Decemebr) that wasn't important.
We got there early afternoon and had a catch up, did odd jobs and I cooked the meal we'd taken with us. It was pretty hot, though apparently cooler than the previous couple of days, so we waited until well into the evening before having a short walk to stretch the legs. There was a faint orangey glow in teh sky, reflected in the river.
