Sailing on Grassy Waves
Midday was our usual family zoom quiz. Sam was asking the questions and we came a respectable third. After lunch we decided to risk the weather, thundery showers, and go into Stratford for a walk and a coffee at Nero. It was fairly busy, see extra of High Street, still barriered, this is a picture of my old stamping ground of The Garrick, famous for its Abbot Ale, and Harvard House next door.
The main picture was a sneaky pic taken through the fencing surrounding New Place garden, the site of Shakespeare's Stratford home, still closed to visitors, only the Birthplace being now open. The boat, The King's Ship, is a model based on The Prince Royal, the ship that is thought to inspire the boat in The Tempest. It certainly seems to have hit stormy weather.
Although the rumble of thunder continued as we were walking back to the car we managed to get home before the rain started.
