Frustration!

I got up at 7am on a Sunday ready for part 2 of my millinery class on zoom with Australia to find that we had no power.  The pictures are my ‘homework’ completed from week 1. I shall just have to wear it with pins! Seriously, I think it should be quite straightforward to finish

The updates from the power network were something like Ryanair... each time the deadline approached, it was put back another hour. So frustrating! I found our old ‘aga’kettle, and put it on the gas hob, but forgot it was an electric ignition, so had to try and find matches! I eventually found a cigarette lighter I use for sealing the end of ribbon to prevent it fraying!
I then delivered some boiling water to my Neighbours for essential cups of tea, and managed to singe a tea towel in the process!

It made me realise how dependent we are on electricity .  I couldn’t iron fabric, or use the electric sewing machine!  Or print postage labels to process orders.

Power eventually returned at around 2pm.
