Mint Moth

This morning it had been raining and there was a wet forecast so the walk with the group was cancelled. As the morning progressed it was just occasional drizzle so I went for a walk around Ifton Meadows NR. 

In the afternoon the sun came out so I did a bit of gardening.  I was getting the pond weed out of the pond when there was a scuffle in the hawthorn tree near me.  Out shot a sparrow with a sparrowhawk in hot persuit.  They whizzed over the hedge but I couldn't see the outcome.

I saw this mint moth on the herbs.  It didn't go on the mint but loved the marjoram.
