Key to safety at sea ... the lighthouse
It's been that kind of a day ...... dull, mizzly and just a wee bit chilly .... bright summery clothes have replaced with dark jackets and trousers. I stood out like a sore thumb wearing my scarlet rain jacket.
This is the view of the Elie Ness Lighthouse from the harbour. Like many lighthouses of old this one is unmanned but the light with a range of 17 miles still shines brightly. The running and upkeep of the lighthouse is the responsibility of Forth Ports.
It's a popular walk, part of the coastal path, from the car park out to the lighthouse then continuing on to Lady's Tower and beyond to the village of St Monans
