The Key to Success
If the key to success is a four-leaved clover,
I will have to get by on threes.
It's not as if these lucky leaves
exactly grew on trees
though, if they did, I have to say,
life would be a breeze.
If the key to success is a horse-shoe,
I'll just have to manage with flip-flops.
It isn't easy to hunt down shoes,
not even following clip-clops
but, if you did, then life would seem
the hippoest of hip-hops.
Yet forget finding charms
you may never possess,
horse-shoes or clover
for lining your nest.
You must make your own luck:
that's the key to success.

A broad interpretation of the 'key/quay' theme for this week's Mono Monday challenge. Thanks to Kathy (Chantler63) for hosting August's MM challenges with such imaginative themes.
Family B left this morning, after which I think I slept for around two hours (making up for a sleepless night last night, combined with rising at 6.30 to babysit while little Miss B's parents grabbed a few more zeds).
It's a long journey and a long time for a one-year old to be confined. So grateful that they visited. The house feels sooo empty and quiet now.
