Birthday opal

As predicted yesterday, today's blip is of my beautiful new ring that Tim had made for me (by our friend Liz, AKA Untold Jewellery) for my birthday.  I love it!  I spent a while this afternoon turning it this way and that to catch all the different colours in the light with my macro lens.  

Cleaned the kitchen this morning - and a bit of the bathroom this afternoon.  Lots of WhatsApping with my family about the A Level and GCSE omnishambles today - with the government (predictably) capitulating and finally allowing the teachers' predicted grades to stand.  My nephew is pretty relieved - and I'm fairly sure my niece's uni situation remains unchanged, so phew.  Don't know what'll happen for my Mum's poor carer who had to find another course at another uni due to her being downgraded from ABC to CDE.  What a total cock-up.
