Wharf

On a grey evening dog walk between showers, almost the only pic I took today .... and I'm not going to embarrass one of the subjects of the other shot by showing it here!

The Tywyn terminus of the Talyllyn, once known as 'Kings' is known as Wharf these days.  No water in sight but this shot illustrates why the name Wharf is used.   The slates from Bryn Eglwys quarries were unloaded over the edge onto main line wagons wagons on the Cambrian line, to be whisked away to roove houses of the rapidly expanding population in mostly English towns.  Tonight a works train stands waiting.  Work on the line through Tywyn is due tonight.
