What feeds on the fungus?

When I first noticed this tree the threads of fungus were visible under the bark. Then the tree fell beside the path and the bark fell off. Now a patch of threads are gleaming with something else catching the light.

From an internet search I guess the threads are rhizomorphs of honey fungus. I have no idea if the sticky stuff comes from the fungus or if something else is feeding on it in turn.
