A mouthful.
Phew!
What a fun day. When I drew back the curtains I saw balloons tied to the back yard wall telling all the world I was joining the elite 70 club!
Postie brought flowers along with numerous cards.
Visitors dropped in with cards, bearing fun gifts.
So many cards alluding to gin and other liquid refreshments - my friends know me too well...
The afternoon High Tea was duly enjoyed.... with Prosecco to start. We had three 'trays' between 5 of us and there so much that some was left over - I came home with a few of these tiny cakes (varying flavours) - grateful for a blip! Sandwiches, scones and then a variety of cakes and baked goodies along with copious cups of delicious (proper) tea with plenty of chat and laughter. A very enjoyable couple of hours.
We saw the Spitfire flying over Barnstaple as we sat down - and then just before we finished there was an almighty burst of rain which blew over equally fast thankfully as yesterday there were floods in the town - first time in the 40 years I have lived around here; the drains just could not cope. Horrendous for all those homes and businesses flooded!
Another year begins.
