Common Blue

Today I was struck by the contrast between the Downs - where butterflies are still in very good numbers - and the Weald where they are much reduced. I haven't checked but I guess that it may  reflect the distribution of univoltine and bivoltine  species. There seemed to be lots of fresh Common Blues around today.
