Mistake Proofing

This morning i was telling my class about the Japanese concept of Poka Yoke to design systems that mistake proof for human error. Ironically in the midst of the lesson I shot downstairs to make tea and accidentally unplugged the coffee maker meaning S. coffee went cold. He had been listening in on my lesson and declared it a load of rubbish to say it’s always the process to blame. I demonstrated a quick process improvement anyway!
