Sailing (with assistance!)

Thursday
This morning we said goodbye to our daughter Laura, as we took her to the airport for the first leg of her journey back to Kuwait, where she is a teacher in an American school. Teaching is going to be online, and the children will not be starting until the beginning of October, but the school wants the teachers at school by the end of the month. We got her to the airport for 10.15 for a 12.30 flight. In the afternoon, we were invited by Roger’s friend Phil to go sailing with him. Unfortunately the wind did not cooperate, despite what Phil’s app had told him, and we had to rely on the little electric motor much of the time. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful day to be out on the water, and good to see Phil who we hadn’t seen for some time. After that we just had time to change at home and get to church for our socially distanced small group handbells. The plan had been to record one of our pieces for the Sunday morning streamed service, but unfortunately they’d had new equipment installed earlier in the week, and when Danny thought it was all set, he had a problem. He tried talking to someone on the phone, but in the end , we had to give up and just have another practice! We’ll try again next week!
