Men in the Kitchen!
Had a great time at church this morning - it may have been grey and cold outside - but inside it was very different!
We sang some good songs - a couple that we hadn't sung for a long time - and it was good to be together as the people of God.
Our sermon was about the Cost of Discipleship with particular regard to the Church - bearing in mind that the church is the people and NOT the building and how we need to distinguish between cost and value - how much we pay and how much something is worth.
I think we all realise that there is immense value in being part of a loving, caring community that is our church so that when times are hard for one member, others can get alongside them and help in a myriad of ways. Equally when good things happen to us, we can share and our friends can rejoice with us.
We always have coffee, biscuits and chat after the service and this week it was the turn of the men of the church to serve.
My blip today was taken in the kitchen where the men were clearing up afterwards - one of them said that it was an abomination for men to have to do the washing up, but I did tell them that it was biblical for men to do the dishes - sadly they derided me, but just for them, I quote the following:
"I will wipe Jerusalem as a MAN wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down."
2 Kings 21:13 - King James version
I note that in later versions, the word MAN has been changed, but I think we should leave it as in the KJ version!!

Happy Blipping week everyone - and be blessed whether you are wiping the dishes, doing the cooking, looking after the children or going to work.
