poppies
I've done quite a bit of gardening today, as Storm Ellen is coming and in any case, I'll be busy at work until the weekend.
At this time of year, there always seems to be so much to do - dead heading, cutting back, planting seeds, harvesting produce and the inevitable weeding. The alchemilla mollis flowers have gone brown and if they aren't cut off, they set seed everywhere. We already have far too much of the stuff.
These poppies came from seeds I brought home from a visit to Mum and Dad before they moved house. A nice reminder of that garden. The seed heads are more striking than the flowers.
Anyway, we had peas, beans and freshly dig tatties for tea tonight - the fruits (or vegetables!) of my labours.
