Whalwick
A dull and overcast day, with some sunny spells in the late afternoon. Mist has come down this evening.
A day working from home. I spent the morning at my desk, and feels like it's been forever since I was last using it. A few hours off this afternoon, and then a few hours working tonight. Also working in the pub later. I headed out with Sammy in the afternoon, and had a yarn with grandad's whaling pal in the garden, Gibbie and Laureen Fraser in West Burrafirth.
Unsure about my afternoon hike, Gibbie directed me, and set me off in the right direction. As I headed over the stunning wilderness and scenery, I came to the old croft. Built by a Laurenson man, probably in the 19th century. He asked the laird for some ground, and the laird offered him help. The help was either 7 men for one day's work, or 1 man for 7 days work. He took the one man, and they laid out the boundary. Not sure when it was abandoned, but sits it a stunning setting. Taken at Whalwick, West Burrafirth.
