Railway, or not a railway?

This may look like just a small rise in the ground level, but it is actually a railway embankment.  Except for one thing; it has never seen a train.  It was built in 1865 by the Newport Pagnell Railway Company as part of their extension of the line from NP to Olney, but they ran out of money so the line was never completed.  It is now just a feature on Bury Field but there is a plaque nearby giving the history of the line.

Just a short walk on the common this morning while W had a doctor’s appointment.  Apart from that we’ve been working on the jigsaw; it’s nearly finished.
