I have a friend who is mad about golf and regularly describes foul weather conditions as "like Carnoustie 1968"

He has a hilarious sense of humour as Carnoustie is reputed to be one of the windiest courses. The Pros have coined the Carnoustie Effect to describe these difficult conditions.
