Better times ahead?
We visited our friend Richard who lives near Marlay Park this afternoon. The original plan had been to visit the Pearse Museum in St Enda's Park but the unsettled weather put a stop to that.
Instead, Richard treated us to tea and sandwiches and cake in his apartment. We had a grand old time, chatting and reminiscing and problem-solving for a really enjoyable few hours.
On my way home afterwards the sky began to adopt a threatening look and the rain returned. As I approached Pearse Street, though, a dramatic double rainbow put on a display which made everything seem okay again. It isn't all okay, of course. The latest pandemic update reported a further worrying tally of new cases to add to the spate of high infection numbers.
EDIT 1 – I've added an extra that shows just a few of the cranes on the city skyline. In i this case they're at the site of the new ESB headquarters. Seeing them makes one wonder what's going to happen to all the new office space currently under construction, not to mention the many hotels and block after block of accommodation for well-off students. Well-laid plans are all well and good, but nobody could have foreseen how the rug would be pulled out from under.
EDIT 2 – I've done some back-blipping: Another ologist, Harry's, Individually wrapped, Garden envy, Covid advice and Sorrento House.
