Dolphins and Slipways

Evidence of D-Day at Lepe, Hampshire.

The Dolphins formed part of the pierhead used to load ships departing for Normandy.

The Slipways were used to launch 'Mulberry Harbour' caissons at high tide.

Conditions today were foul - blowing a gale, and rain lashing in horizontally across the sea. Not ideal for photography, but still worth the visit.
