Un-named
Today's offering is a rather smart parasitic wasp sitting on the fading leaves of one of our peonies, carefully having a wash and brush up. Despite its red and black livery, it was not possible to put a name on the species - parasitic wasps are notoriously difficult to identify, even when a specimen is available, let along from a photograph that doesn't show all the necessary characters!
This was the only moderately decent photograph I took today, which was otherwise taken up with work and preparing for yet another trip to Kent tomorrow.
